Today was a wonderful day in Rome!

We got to visit a variety of different places, out of the three churches we saw, my favorite was the Sant’Ignazio Church. It had an optical illusion of a dome that could be seen while standing in a certain spot in the church. I found it amazing that back when the painting of the ceiling was done the artists were able to have the vision of the people on the ground in mind, and were able to create such an impressive optical illusion while painting a ceiling from two feet away.
We also got to see the Circus Maximus where the horse-drawn chariot races were held, and even though it was just an empty field I was still able to imagine what it looked like in the past. The last place of the day we visited was the Domitilla Catacombs, and boy were they impressive. The fact that they are 11 miles of underground tombs is crazy yet amazing at the same time.
Rome has been amazing so far, and the food is INCREDIBLE. I have no clue how any food in Florida is going to compare to here. I am having the time of my life on this trip, and will have memories to last a lifetime. Day three in Italy was a success!! Bye for now!
