I, Rosangela Brevet, am happy to share my story with you. In 2004 I left my country, Brazil, to participate in an exchange program. I lived with an American family for a year and had the opportunity to learn English. The opportunity I had was unique not only because I had learned English, but I also because I got to experience life in America, which is relatively different from the life in Brazil.
Ten years later, I am delighted to be an SPC student and to keep moving forward! I am current studying Health Information Technology, as I love any health or informatics subject. Also, I love being around international people and I am thankful to have the opportunity to work for the Center for International Program as a student assistant. Additionally, I am the president of the TS International Club; since we cannot be everywhere, the goal of the International Club is to bring other cultures into our lives and promote “thinking outside the box”!
Being a foreigner living in the USA hasn’t always been easy, but determination and persistence are winning characteristics that one must have if he/she wants to succeed.
Thanks to my experience in working for the Center for International Programs, I am happy to say I was hired by a local International company. I will take the experience learned while at SPC with me to my new career.
I’m proud of my accomplishments and will continue to follow my dreams!
“Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.”
