Italy HS – The Trevi Fountain by Lisa Nguyen

This was my absolute favorite day in Rome. I waited for this day my whole life, and on June 30th, 2012, my greatest wish came true, I was able to see the Trevi Fountain!

I can’t even begin to explain the feeling I felt seeing this fountain. I was so happy I believe I almost was in tears. I never thought I would be standing in front of the Trevi Fountain with my best friend, Austin, and my new close friend, Alexia.

Mytra, our tourguide, told us the key knowledge about the fountain- the wishes. You were able to make three wishes with the three coins you threw in.

1. You return to Rome.
2. You fall in love in Rome.
3. You get married in Rome.

You can only guess how many coins I threw in because I personally won’t tell you in hopes that my wish(es) come true!

But I do wish I was able to see the Trevi Fountain in its most complete form, when the main statue Neptune holding the trident but unfortunately, some fool in the 1800’s tried to climb the statue grabbing a hold of the trident and broke it. So that all that is left is what Neptune is holding literally in the palm of his hands.
