Hola, Costa Rica!

Costa Rica offers many diverse educational opportunities, businesses, food choices, tourism and much more. INCAE, one of Costa Rica’s most prestigious schools, is ranked as one of the top business schools around the world. Franchising Businesses in Costa Rica have a major part in importing and exporting around the world.

Education:We have visited INCAE business school, where it was founded in 1964 by Harvard University and supported by John F. Kennedy. INCAE business school offers MBA programs such as MBA, EMBA, GREM and MIAM. Ryan Frazee, the Director of Admissions from INCAE business school, was kind enough to provide us with helpful information and the background of INCAE.

Business:According to the spokesperson from the Chamber of Commerce; the fast growing of exports in Costa Rica is increasing rapidly, where it has gotten up to 221 franchise companies currently. North America is providing the biggest imports and exports for Costa Rica, with over 150 American Companies such as Intel, Wal-Mart, Coca-Cola, McDonalds and more. Fast food chains in franchise brings in up to 50% in Costa Rica’s economy, fashion is around 5%, healthcare is around 3% and remaining percentages are for everything else.

Food:While it takes some time to get used to the Costa Rica’s Culture, their food is easily adaptable by many. The Chefs in Costa Rica provides a great deal of selection of foods, where they all provide excellent services and quality foods. If there’s one word to describe the food here in Costa Rica, it would be “Amazing!”.

Tourism:It was highly unexpected for the tremendous amount of traffic in tourism, tourists are everywhere for Costa Rica’s amazing scenery, awesome activities and restless shopping, etc. The locals in Costa Rica are very friendly and they are very laid back, everyone will greet you and offer to assist if you need help. People from all over the world would visit here in Costa Rica, simply because it’s one of the best places for getaway.

This is only the first week of the Costa Rica trip, where the amount of positive energy is already overwhelming. Every event and place so far have been highly enjoyable, we are definitely looking forward to explore more in this fantastic Latin country. A special thank you to Jason, Cary, Anna, Professor Fernandez and the Study Abroad faculty, they have made this trip possible for us to have the most amazing cross cultural experience.
