Helping sea turtles in Australia

Today we worked with the injured sea turtles on the in land rehabilitation center. Some had missing flippers, wounds on the shell, or infections on their skin. We began the day similar as to what we did on Fitzroy Island. We prepped the food, fed the turtles, and then cleaned out their tank.

One turtle had an infection on the under side of its belly so we got to pick her up and spray medication that promotes healing. She is one of their turtles that is extremely underweight. She didn’t even look healthy enough to be alive. I’m glad she is in the hands of the workers there because they will ensure she makes it and continues to get better.

Out of the two different locations I enjoyed the hospital the most because it felt rewarding to help with the sick turtles.
