Exploring the extravagant and lavish Palace of Versailles by Lauren Stockton

No photoshop here SPC goes to VersaillesMan oh man, where to start!

This trip to Paris so far has been amazing! Out of the sights we’ve seen; Versailles has got to be the most extravagant and lavish. This property itself is massive. You could wonder these gardens and buildings for days and probably still wouldn’t get to see everything. The palace is stunning, no space has gone untouched.

Cost of course wasn’t a problem. These kings really had an impressive vision in their heads of what royal is and should look like. Status and impression is everything when you first come to the palace right? Naturally, the King has to knock you off your feet with style! Every inch of these rooms is covered in detail. The walls are papered with bold, pretty colors and textures. The ceilings are painted in stunning portraits or beautiful murals of every important person of status imaginable. Also, there had to be a chandelier in every room I say. My favorite room had to be the Hall of Mirrors. It was be far the most decorated space in the house. For it being so lavish; I was really taken back by how beautiful and classy it came off. I was for sure thinking I was going to come off  “tacky” but I was surprisingly wrong. 🙂

After a long, gorgeous walk in the sunshine throughout the main garden; we made it to the Grand Canal. Where Alec, Aliza, Coy and Sam rented a row boat! Definitely a peaceful highlight of this nonstop trip. It was really nice to leave the city for awhile and see some French countryside. We had beautiful weather; a cool sunny day. Today was by far a great day. No rushing or hurrying, just a calm day to enjoy some great history.

See you soon!! 🙂
