Today was a success! Veni Vidi Vici – We came, we saw, we conquered 🙂 One of the first stops that we made was at the Roman Forum. This area made me feel at home and at peace. As our tour guide Molly gave us information about this area I felt an overwhelming sense of belonging, love, and life. I shed a tear as I gazed at the beautiful scenery and knew I was home.
Out of the whole experience, Â the center of Rome was what touched me the most, along with the Sacred Path of Rome. I decided to take 3 stones from the sacred path as a souvenir and to remind me that no matter where you are in life, you are brought to certain places, at certain times, for certain reasons. I felt like I had lived in the place and had past memories of the early Roman society. Â We also visited the Coliseum and immersed ourselves in current Roman culture as we walked the streets of Rome on free time, and enjoyed wonderful local food. After dinner the crew went out for dessert and we created a bond that will last longer than our study abroad trip ❤
I am very excited to see the Pantheon tomorrow and know it will bring me great pleasure like I have had today. Buona notte miei amici!
