Spain – I have grown living here by Victoria Reis

I’m am still in shock that the end of our 3 week journey is almost complete. I can not even begin to describe the amount I have grown living here, immersing myself in this amazing and diverse culture. Even though I am not leaving here completely fluent in the Spanish language, I am leaving with an ever larger drive to become fluent. I will miss so many things about this country. The atmosphere, surroundings, the noises and people but most of all the culture.

I love how kind and genuine everyone is here, especially the elderly who help you when you’re lost. I will miss my 20 minute walk every morning and the kind hearted family that has taken care of me the past 3 weeks. This trip has been a once in a life time experience and I am so glad I was given this opportunity. I can’t wait to go home and take Senora Levin’s Spanish 3 class 😉

I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone searching for a way to immerse themselves in a different culture and learn the ways of a different society.

Spain – Viva Espana!! by Victoria Reis

Today is day 6 of this amazing 3 week adventure. I don’t even know where to start. Estudio Sampere has some of the best teachers, besides professor Levin, I have ever had. The discussions in class help your American tongue speak Spanish! It is so amazing. Everyone is willing to help you whether it is your grammar, verbs, or conjugations.

The students of SPC, I must say, could not be any better! Everyone is so amazing and I am so blessed to be here will all of them!

Now onto the food, SO GOOD!! I thought I would be over tapas and meats and the pig legs hanging in the windows but I find myself craving them every morning that I wake up! And I can safely say that if you have not had Gelato you have not yet lived.

Now with the families everyone is different. There are some rules they would like you to follow but you have to remember that they are allowing you to stay in their homes and live with their families so you do have to be respectful but they are so awesome! Fresh cooked meals 3 times a day and it’s free!! (well we already paid for it but still) It is a great way to completely immerse yourself in the culture and I absolutely love it!

And last but not least La Plaza Mayor. It has to be one of the coolest most beautiful places I have ever encountered. The people are so diverse in their cultures and nationalities but it is the meeting grounds for so many events and celebrations! It is like the heart of Salamanca. There are also so many historical buildings surrounding and the shops are great when there are sales! But most of all I believe it is one of the best places to come if you are looking to study and fully learn about Spain’s culture.

Study abroad with SPC!!! Best decision of my life so far!!
