My heart is so full! #Jamaica

Shelah Vera photo 2 - CopyMy heart is so full with the beautiful connections and memories that I have made with my Jamaican students while studying abroad. My favorite part of the trip was receiving all the generous love from the students at St. Paul Primary. From the moment I walked into the school, I was welcomed with numerous hugs and smiles from all the students. Then the smiles and excitement continued as I taught each lesson. It was a great feeling to be able to see and feel the excitement from each student throughout the entire lesson, which made it very difficult to leave.

This experience has contributed to my education, by exposing me to the world outside of the U.S. Now I feel more prepared as a pre-service teacher to teach and to accommodate students from other countries, because this trip was so powerful and beneficial to my education.

To conclude, I am beyond grateful for the wonderful experiences that I have had with the students at St. Paul Primary. The memories created with these students will forever be in my heart. I would recommend everyone to take the opportunity to study abroad one day, especially to Jamaica!
