Exploring Italy

My head is still spinning with excitement. This was the best experience ever. I met some wonderful students to share these amazing moments with. The views in Rome were spectacular. Seeing the ancient ruins of the Forum and the Colosseum was monumental. The bus tour to Sienna and Florence was breathtaking. The people were friendly and pleasant. On our way back to Rome we rode the train. This was the smoothest ride I have ever had on a train. I missed Florence. But on to new experiences. There were so many more tours of churches and museums. Each one having their own history.

We did have a very pleasant surprise on our visit to St. Peter’s Basilica. The Pope was there giving a service to the children. We were not expecting this as part of the tour but were glad to be a part of this moment.

The best part of the trip was being part of a group. I was encouraged by other students to stay motivated when we climbed up the Duomo. I thought I would not make it but I did with the help of Elton and Kayla. This moment is still memorable to me.

So be prepared to walk and walk and walk when you arrive in Rome. But it is well worth it.
