This trip was absolutely amazing!!! It honestly was so much fun and life changing. From the university to walking around Rome we have all changed in some way or another. I feel we all come to think we love traveling and eating real Italian pizza. I also feel like we all came together in some way or another. We made friends that we can always share this experience with. Everything in Rome is amazing! The only thing I don’t know is if it was because we were tourists or if it was actually just amazing! The last few days were the hardest but the most memorable and the most fun. Going to Florence and running so we didn’t miss the train to eating dinner and watching the sun fall in Frascati. I wish for everyone to be able to experience something like this. It really is life impacting. I’m glad we are home safe !:)

Italy HS – Florenceee!!!! by Kaitlin Dement
Florence was so much fun – it was one of my favorite days! We got to see such a pretty city. Everything had a Renaissance touch! We got to see the Santa Maria del Fiore! It was huge and absolutely mind blowing. Also the food was so good, I had one of my favorite meals. We got to see town hall and it had the fake David statue. But before that we saw David…the real David which was so huge and carefully crafted. Michelangelo did such a magnificent job on that. You could see the detail so closely and so accurately it was crazy!
Italy HS – We all have learned to love Italy by Kaitlin Dement
After getting comfortable and getting some sleep we all have learned to love Italy! It is so beautiful and everything is absolutely amazing!!!
Today we went and saw the Vatican Museum and witnessed the incredible Sistine Chapel! We learned that the legendary photo with the two fingers touching is in fact a mind game. The fingers are not touching and are actually about a half a foot apart.
Also walking through the museum we learn all about paintings and famous knotters. These people made huge tapestries out of tiny tiny knots it was so cool !! I cannot wait till tomorrow!
Italy HS – Day 1 by Kaitlin Dement
Our first day was very tiring..most of us were running on no sleep and just wanted to relax after the crazy Atlanta airport! But off to the Coliseum we went!! We learned so much as to the seating arrangements to why they had holes in the stone that the Coliseum was made of! We then walk to Roman Forum and that is where the picture was taken! Here we learned all about Romulus and Remus and a story about a Vestal Virgin that had Mars’s baby. We then went to St. Clementine Church here we had to be properly dressed. We got to see a piece of a church that was from the 4th century! CRAZY! Today was fun can’t wait till tomorrow!
