My experience in Salamanca by Daniel Baez

blog pic 1This is my first time to Spain and it is also the furthest I have traveled by myself. I was so happy to travel with Profesora Levin because she recommended it to me and has looked after me in class.

The time that I have spent here has been a phenomenal experience that I will never forget. Here in Salamanca I am forced to speak what I know in Spanish, it scares me a bit but it is a fear I needed to overcome.

When I walk through the Plaza Mayor everyone is so helpful in giving directions and helping correct my Spanish in a positive way. My roommates are very helpful as well they come from all corners of the world and whenever I need help with homework they are always willing to spend time to make sure I get it done right.

My school experience and view of the Sampere team by Daniel Baez

blog pic 2aWhen I was first introduced to the staff  they where friendly and very professional. After the first week I was given a test to determine where I would be placed to make the most progress in the least amount of time. We were then told what classes we would be placed in and introduced to our classmates. I have enjoyed my time in class because everyone participates and the classes are small enough that if one person has a question it is answered swiftly. Every day for the first 5-7 minutes the class is greeted and asked about their day in Spanish and they have to reply in Spanish. I think that this is one of the best exercises because you get the opportunity to practice Spanish in the motion of everyday greeting. Hearing other people speak about their day and asking questions is my favorite way to learn new words and become more confident in speaking Spanish.
