Until next trip, "PURA VIDA"! by Christina Picarelli

Today was the first day after the school program officially ended. Although I tried my best to sleep in, the Costa Rican time change (two hours behind the United States) and sunlight woke me up at a sharp 7:30am. I must admit, I was feeling lazy today and didn’t make it out to breakfast until about 10:00am. Only a few students remained in the dining room and we reminisced over the past 11 days that had come and gone so quickly. After saying our goodbyes my roommate and travel buddy, Britney, headed out to our next journey.
Around 12pm, a driver from the Buena Vista Hotel dropped us off at the RostiPollo restaurant where our friends (Val, Justin, and Sara) took us to lunch at a place far up in the mountains with an amazing view; about one hour each way. I had the best “typical Costa Rican Dish” of my entire trip, with beef of course! As an added bonus, I found and bought a stuffed animal sloth that I had been looking for the entire trip for less than $20.00 US!

As I now sit at Sara’s house, the day is coming to an end. The sun here sets so early and I am once again getting accustomed to United States time.  I have only one more day in Costa Rica and I plan to make the most of it by visiting a beach much different than ours. Until next trip, “PURA VIDA”!

P.S. more pictures to come when I can connect my camera to the computer!
