Saying goodbye to Australia was hard. I learned many new things while I was over there and saw things that I would have never seen otherwise. I visited many places and hiked up to the summit on Fitzroy Island on one of the last days that I was there. I learned that although we are across an ocean from each other we are the same in many ways.
One way we are the same is the love that is there for the animals in this world and the passion to save them when no one else will. They do some things differently, such as feeding habits – they only feed the sea turtles once a day. Seeing all the wonderful landscapes was amazing and meeting new people was great. The sea turtle rehabilitation center was awesome to work with; we helped clean the pools and feed the sea turtles. I definitely love working in this area of the veterinary technician world. I will continue on this path and one day will work to save the lives of many other sea turtles in the United States.
