Celebrate the Liberation Day of Bulgaria with RODINA on March 1st!

bulgarianThis March, Bulgaria celebrates its National Holiday, marking the 137th anniversary of its liberation from five centuries of Ottoman rule.

In honor of the Bulgarian National Holiday, there will be a picnic to celebrate! The event will be hosted by RODINA, the Bulgarian American Culture Center in the Tampa Bay area:

  • at 12:00 pm

All are welcome to join the festivities!

This celebration was honored for the first time in 1880, on the occasion of the Enthronement of Russian Emperor Alexander the Second. In 1888, March 3rd became Bulgaria’s Day of Liberation, but it was not declared National Holiday until 1978.
