Boren Awards provide scholarships for students to study in Africa, Asia, Central & Eastern Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, and the Middle East, where they can add international and language components to their educations.

Boren Awards for the African Languages Initiative, now in its fifth year, are available for undergraduate and graduate students studying Akan/TWI, French, Swahili, Portuguese, Wolof, or Zulu prior to traveling with a Study Abroad program. Additionally, these awards are available for intensive language and cultural immersion programs during the Fall 2015 semester for Senegal (French), Mozambique (Portuguese), and Tanzania (Swahili). Applications for 2015-2016 Boren Scholarships are now available on the Boren Awards Website.
