Yesterday was amazing! We got to experience the Louvre for many many hours and it’s something that won’t be forgotten! Seeing all of these famous paintings and statues was very eye opening. Having (essentially) a personal tour guide helped a lot. Knowing now why the Mona Lisa is famous because of her smile and she was the first ever to be smiling in a portrait is awesome to see in person..and of course taking a “selfie” with Mona was pretty cool too.
After Louvre we walked to The Column of Napoleon. After his victory, he took 300 cannons, from his allies, melted them down and created a column with a statue of himself at the top. Curving around the column tells an exaggerated story. And because it was made out of cannons and not stone it is rusted and green.
All in all, yesterday was an amazing day and I can’t wait for the rest of the trip! I’m so excited to be in Paris with everyone!
