On Oct. 10, 2016 the College of Nursing welcomed Cindy Ruiz, a BSN student from the Universidad El Bosque in Bogota, Colombia. During the 2-week exchange experience, Cindy attended classes, participated in simulation and visited healthcare facilities. One of the days, she was able to shadow a staff nurse at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in the cardiovascular intensive care unit.
This exchange experience with the Universidad El Bosque’s Nursing program marks the culmination of a year-long process of developing a cooperative relationship between our nursing programs. The intent of this experience for the nursing students is to increase their exposure to other cultures and healthcare modalities.
