I had a great experience during the summer semester study abroad program in Costa Rica.  I not only gained the educational experience that was provided through the wonderful instructors at ILISA and other students from all over the world, but also cultural experience through the home-stay.  The family I had the pleasure of staying with was very kind and helpful in allowing me to practice my Spanish.  One afternoon, I had the opportunity, through ILISA, to spend some time at a local orphanage and give them some gifts.  I think the kids enjoyed it as much as us students did.  Overall, I had a great experience and learned a lot. I would recommend anyone that wants to learn a new language to take the opportunity to study abroad.
