Hola! Its been a few days now since I have arrived in Spain. My plane landed around 6:30 A.M. in Madrid where I was fortunate enough to spend the day adventuring around the beautiful city with a few classmates. Afterwards, the bus ride from Madrid to Salamanca was a bit long, but we all just slept due to jet lag. When we arrived in Salamanca we were greeted by our host families and taken straight to their homes. Immediately the family fed us lunch. The food here is a little bit different, but very delicious.
That night we all met at the Plaza Mayor and watched a light show and got some gelato; a few of us also went exploring through the city. The walk to school is a bit longer then what I had expected, but it’s nice and the weather is amazing. We have attended classes already and they are great! We have two teachers everyday so we can hear Spanish from two different accents. The activities are amazing as well, between taking a tour through the cathedral and salsa dance classes. I am super excited for the weekend trip to Segovia and Zamora.
I can’t wait to see what the next week has in store for us and eager to experience this once in a lifetime opportunity. Hasta Luego!
