Costa Rica in Summary

I can’t believe that a month has passed already, and I am very sad to leave tomorrow, but I have had a great time.

While here in Costa Rica, I had the chance to go to Sarchí, to see how Ox carts have been traditionally-made for well over a hundred years… Poas Volcan, where it cleared up right before we left and we were able to the volcano in its full glory… Manuel Antonio, where we had the opportunity to visit the Pacific Ocean, and I surfed for my first time ever, and we got to the national park as well, which offered plenty of hiking and plenty of fun… Puerto Viejo, which was my first time in the Caribbean, and I had the opportunity to go surfing again, but this time was solo. I had such a good time with a group of friends I met on the trip that live in Utah. I loved the vibes the beach and people gave off… Finally Cartago, where we visited the The Basílica de Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles, which was so beautiful… We visited markets in the town, and ruins by the town central, where I met a few cheerleaders, with whom I got flip and stunt.

And this was just over the weekend, and doesn’t include all the activities I did throughout the weeks in Costa Rica! I made plenty of new friends, found out a little more about myself, and got to experience the awesome and amazing culture and people of Costa Rica. I will definitely make my way back out next summer for the next Costa Rica Spanish program.
