Ireland: Day 4 by Aliza Breyan

Today, we woke up and headed to North West Regional College to catch the bus to Bushmills Distillery with a studying abroad group from Spain! Even though it smelt amazing, the taste of whiskey isn’t that good, so most of the girls gave their free taste of Bushmills to Mr. Fouts, Bonnie Kesler’s new husband. Haha. The tour of the distillery was pretty fascinating to listen to and to look around.

After the tour of Bushmills, we headed over the Giants Causeway. The supposed 15 minute walk took about an hour from all of the pictures everyone was taking of the stunning view of the water and cliffs with one another and of course group photos! As we got closer to the actual cliffs we could walk on the mood of the group got more and more excited, the view was unlike anything we could have imagined from the pictures from Google or the past Study Abroad pictures from students.

Once we, sadly, left Giants Causeway it was off to the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge in Antrim, North Ireland. The excitement was almost too much to handle once we were in line for the terrifyingly high rope bridge. Some were almost too scared to cross it, as the height of it was just so..high. But in the end, everyone crossed it and we all took some beautiful pictures on the island that the bridge connects. It’s amazing how different the landscaping is in Ireland compared to Florida.
