Orthotics and Prosthetics student Julia Denney became a finalist in the Dr. Pepper Tuition Giveaway in late 2014. After completing the second most football throws during halftime of the Southeastern Conference Championship Game Dec. 6, she came away with $20,000 in tuition.
Denney qualified for the tuition contest by submitting a “one-of-a-kind” story explaining why she deserved the $100,000 grand prize. Her story, which you can read here, garnered 50 votes on the $10K Leaderboard, enough to submit a video. She was then selected by Dr. Pepper as a finalist to compete at the SEC championship game between the University of Alabama and the University of Missouri.
