St. Petersburg College will be hosting an information session Dec. 8 into health-related jobs through the college’s Orthotic and Prosthetic Technology and Physical Therapist Assistant associate programs.
The information session at SPC’s Health Education Center – from 1 -2:30 p.m. – will spotlight these two successful A.S. programs. If you have been eager to apply to either of these programs, this is the event for you! Please register here.
At this info session you will have a chance to:
- take an inside look at our Physical Therapist Assistant and Orthotic and Prosthetic Technology state-of-the-art labs
- speak with faculty members
- speak with career and academic advisers about program specifics and the admissions process
At the information session, we will also be discussing the available career fields for both Orthotic and Prosthetic Technology and Physical Therapist Assistant. Both of these programs are extremely hands-on, providing the students with the knowledge and clinical experience to be capable employees who need little on-the-job training once they graduate.

Orthotic and Prosthetic Technology Program
The Orthotic and Prosthetic Technology program has been providing training through its $11-million J.E. Hanger College of Orthotics and Prosthetics.
This expanding health field involves evaluating, fabricating and custom-fitting artificial limbs. This field also fits orthopedic braces to help rehabilitate patients with disabling conditions. There is an increasing demand for professionals in these fields and the educational requirements continue to increase.

Physical Therapist Assistant Program
The Physical Therapist Assistant program provides training to help people regain or attain the ability to walk and carry out daily activities. As a physical therapist assistant, you’re an integral part of a rehabilitation team that helps patients improve their quality of life by restoring physical function or preventing permanent disability.
