Crisis Intervention Team (C. I. T.) Training<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Monday, March 20th, NAMI Pinellas will participate with a the Pinellas County Police Department and mental health providers to offer a\u00a040-hour Crisis Intervention Team (C. I. T.) Training to Law Enforcement Officers.<\/strong><\/p>\n

C. I. T. provides law enforcement-based, crisis intervention training for assisting\u00a0individuals with\u00a0a mental illness, and improves the safety of patrol officers, persons in crisis, family members, and citizens\u00a0within the community. The basic goals are to improve officer, individual, and community safety as well as redirect individuals with mental health conditions from the Judicial System to the Health Care System.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Friday, March 24th, join us at the C. I. T. Graduation ceremony at Empath Health, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd,\u00a0Clearwater in The Gathering Place, Bldg 100 at 3:00 pm so we can show our support of the C. I. T. Program.<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

Family-to-Family<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Family-to-Family is a 12 week course that\u00a0offers families information on mental illnesses, treatment, coping skills, and advocacy.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Monday, March 20th is week 10 of the 12-week Family-to-Family Course 6:00-8:00pm\u00a0The Centre, in Palm Harbor<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tuesday, March 21th\u00a0is week 11 of the 12-week\u00a0Family-to-Family\u00a0course held\u00a0 <\/strong>at\u00a0Northwest\u00a0Church of Christ in St. Petersburg\u00a0from\u00a06:00-8:00pm.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Peer-to-Peer is a free 10-week course which offers\u00a0tools for recovery in a relaxed, confidential setting.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Wednesday, March 22nd is the 7th week of NAMI 10-week\u00a0Peer-to-Peer\u00a0course. \u00a0Class meets from\u00a010am-12pm\u00a0in\u00a0Portable Classroom 2,\u00a0of Northwest Church of Christ 6355 38th Avenue North, St Pete, FL 33710.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thursday, April 6th is NAMI Florida Advocacy Day at the State Capitol.\u00a0The groups begin to gather at 9 am at the Kleman Plaza Parking Center,\u00a0306 S. Duval Street, 9:15 am where they will march to the Capitol at 10:00 am for a press conference.\u00a0 Attendees will have opportunities\u00a0to meet with lawmakers and attend legislative committee meetings.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thursday, April 6th, Family Support Group\u00a0meets from 6:00-7:30pm at CSA Palm Harbor\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

Thursday, April 13th, our Education Meeting will feature Rosalie Bousher MA, LMHC, RN, to offer Part 2 of her series, “Building Family Relationships.” \u00a0NAMI Education Meetings are scheduled for the second Thursday of every month and feature a variety of topics related to mental health.<\/strong><\/p>\n
