{"id":1531,"date":"2017-02-22T10:15:52","date_gmt":"2017-02-22T15:15:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/veterans\/?p=1531"},"modified":"2024-02-13T08:31:39","modified_gmt":"2024-02-13T13:31:39","slug":"a-letter-regarding-myva-access","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/veterans\/a-letter-regarding-myva-access\/","title":{"rendered":"A letter regarding MyVA Access"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Veterans:<\/p>\n<p>The Veterans Health Administration (VHA) is undergoing one of the largest transformations in its history.\u00a0 An important component of this transformation is an initiative called MyVA Access.\u00a0 You may recall our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.va.gov\/myva\/\">MyVA<\/a> Access Declaration signing ceremony that occurred in 2016.\u00a0 If not, you can view a short video about the event here: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=lLJDynKHGOo\">https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=lLJDynKHGOo <\/a><\/p>\n<p>Central to MyVA Access is the commitment to providing you, the Veterans we serve, with enhanced options to access health care services and a consistent set of expectations when you engage the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.baypines.va.gov\/\">Bay Pines VA Healthcare System <\/a>for routine care.\u00a0 These expectations include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Timely care including same day services in primary care, and<\/li>\n<li>Timely mental health care, including same day services, as needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Since the date of our declaration signing ceremony, we have made dramatic progress regarding same-day services.\u00a0 In fact, we now offer same-day access in both primary care and mental health across our healthcare system.\u00a0 If you require a routine primary care or mental health care right away, during regular business hours, you will be able to receive some level of care the same day, or if after hours, by the next day at the C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center, Lee County Healthcare Center, or one of our community based outpatient clinics.\u00a0 These enhanced health care access options build upon the same-day services that we have already been providing to you through our emergency department, urgent care clinics, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.myhealth.va.gov\/\">My HealtheVet <\/a>and several specialty services like cardiology and audiology.
