As we complete the first year, the program has provided a great learning experience for students and successfully placed 80 percent of participants who were ready for internships or jobs.<\/p>\n<p>Marissa Guiffre, an SPC student pursuing her Bachelors in Technology Management, joined the first cohort of TechCamp to enhance her professional skills as well as her presence in Tampa Bay\u2019s rapidly growing tech hub. She said she&#8217;d never been comfortable speaking in front of people she didn&#8217;t know, so when\u00a0her internship supervisor complimented her strong presentation skills, she was surprised.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTechCamp helped me identify that weakness and improve on it by providing exercises and activities each week that helped me gain more confidence in my public speaking skills,&#8221; Guiffre said.<\/p>\n<p>Giuffre said the program really paid off for her: She has accepted a position with Citi in their CTO Tech Analyst program beginning after graduation in May 2019.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/technology-educational-information\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2018\/09\/blog.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4169 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/technology-educational-information\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2018\/09\/blog-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"tech jobs\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/technology-educational-information\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2018\/09\/blog-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/technology-educational-information\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2018\/09\/blog-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/technology-educational-information\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/8\/2018\/09\/blog-1024x576.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Four TechCamps have been offered so far in 2018, with 119 students participating. Seventy one students completed the program, which includes 24+ hours of classroom and independent activities to understand the opportunities available in Tampa Bay, preparing them for success in the job hunt.<\/p>\n<p>TechCamp differs from most career development programs due to the participation of local employers. These business leaders participate in the planning and execution of programs and workshops that cover topics such as building a personal network, the importance of MeetUps, and TechCamp.<\/p>\n<p>This is a partial list of businesses that have participated in TBNSAW events:<br \/>\nArbitration Forums, Bankers Financial Corporation, Bealls, Bic Graphic, Catalina, Centratel, Citi, CloudPlus, Cognizant, Docuwerx, Freedom Scientific, Hivelocity, hypnosheep, Inside Sales Solutions, IT Authorities, JPMorgan Chase, Malwarebytes, Melitta, Nextech, Pinellas County Govt, Pozytek, PSCU, Raymond James, Tech Data, Triad Retail Media, Tribridge, Vacco, Valpak.<\/p>\n<p>TechCamp is accepting applications for two Fall programs.
