Specifically, the classes prepare you for the SAS Base Programmer certification, an extremely valuable industry standard that makes you highly marketable. Offered as sub plan in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spcollege.edu\/Technology_Management_Bachelors\/\">Technology Development and Management Bachelor of Applied Science degree<\/a>, classes opened for the new sub plan this fall.<\/p>\n<h2>Data Analytics sub plan gives students #1 job skill<\/h2>\n<p>Just this year, Money magazine named SAS knowledge (Statistical Analysis System) #1 out of the top 25 most desirable job skills in the country.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Top data skills and their average pay boost (source: Money Magazine): <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>SAS (Statistical Analysis System): +6.1%<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Data Mining\/Data Warehousing: +5.1%<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Data Modeling: +5%<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>According to Peter Sondergaard, senior vice-president of Gartner Research, \u201cThere is not enough talent in the industry\u2026data experts will be a scarce, valuable commodity.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Data Analytics sub plan courses<\/h3>\n<p>The sub plan is composed of five courses:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Business Intelligence<\/li>\n<li>Data Mining<\/li>\n<li>Web Analytics<\/li>\n<li>Data Analytics Technologies<\/li>\n<li>Data Analytics Management<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>With the introduction of the sub plan, St. Petersburg College is on the cutting edge of education for data analytics, as few universities and colleges have established data analytics bachelor\u2019s programs.<\/p>\n<h4>SPC Partners with SAS to provide free training<\/h4>\n<p>We are actually partnering with SAS to provide students thousands of dollars\u2019 worth of free training. In one class alone SAS is providing free access to $1250 worth of training. They have an excellent system for preparing students for their certification.
