St. Petersburg College welcomes three new technology faculty members to start this fall.<\/p>\n

Dawn Ellis<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Dawn Ellis, Academic Chair<\/strong>
\nClearwater Campus<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dawn Ellis earned a master\u2019s degree in computer science and a master\u2019s degree in computational engineering from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She also taught computer science at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga for six years. For the last six years she served as Academic Department Chair of Computer Science at Florida Keys Community College. While there she led a team of students to win the prestigious NASA Engineering Challenge<\/a>. One of only three\u00a0 Florida colleges awarded a $134,000 grant from the Florida Space Grant Consortium, her students are now eligible for NASA internships. South Florida’s Rep. Carlos Curbelo talked about the honor recently<\/a> on the House floor.<\/p>\n

\nTarpon Springs Campus<\/strong><\/p>\n

Henry Cutler has Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Information Technology and a Masters of Education in Instructional Technology from the University of South Florida, Tampa. He has also taken electronics classes at the Wentworth Institute of Technology, Boston University and Lowell Institute (MIT). He has been working in the technology field for more than 30 years as an Electronic Engineer and Project Manager. He is also a published renewable energy expert and inventor for three U.S. patents.<\/p>\n

\nSeminole Campus<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jun \u2018Thomas\u2019 Ma earned his Master of Science in Computer Science from University of Maryland Eastern Shore and his MBA from Salisbury University in Maryland. He is an AP Computer Science Reader\/Rater for Educational Testing Service (ETS). He taught six years at Shorecrest Preparatory School as a Math\/Computer Science teacher and most recently served as the Math Department Chair\u00a0at Admiral Farragut Academy.\u00a0He was one of the three 2014 recipients for the Barrett Family Foundation for Excellence in Math\/Science Teacher Award. He has taught at SPC as an adjunct instructor in the past year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
