SPC computer networking student Robert Hindmon was given the College of Computer and Information Technology (CCIT) Student Award on April 21, at SPC’s Midtown Campus.<\/p>\n

Given to a technology student that excels in the program, Hindmon was praised for his dedication in his studies and his positive attitude.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have had Robert in three of my classes at the Midtown Campus,” said Laura Malave, CCIT Academic Chair, Midtown Campus. “He is an excellent student and has especially excelled in Introduction to Computer Programming<\/em> (COP 1000). He is always on time and prepared.”<\/p>\n

Like many SPC students, Hindmon works hard to balance a full-time job and family with his academic course load.<\/p>\n

“He is very enthusiastic about the course material and is always willing to volunteer ideas and participate in the class discussion and programming labs,” said Malave. “Robert is able to balance his studies with a job and family life. He is an excellent example of a CCIT student, and I look forward to his continued success.”<\/p>\n

Computer Networking A.S. Degree<\/h3>\n

Hindmon is a sophomore in the Computer Networking A.S. Degree<\/a> program at SPC’s Midtown Campus.<\/p>\n

Our computer networking degree prepares you for software and network support positions in the IT field. With this degree, you can enter the job market or pursue further study, including SPC\u2019s bachelor\u2019s degree in technology management. As part of the A.S. degree, you complete an internship, providing invaluable experience for your career and choose a subplan: network engineering (Cisco) or network administrator (Linux and Windows).<\/p>\n

Of the nine students who received awards during the Midtown Awards Ceremony, Hindmon was the only student to be honored for their work in the CCIT program.<\/p>\n
