As mentioned in a previous article,\u00a0 the (ISC)2 Tampa Bay Chapter is a registered 501 (c)3 organization which provides its members with a networking opportunity to share knowledge, exchange resources and\u00a0collaborate on projects. This forum allows members to\u00a0have the ability to gain a sense of fellowship with colleagues in their profession. They will also be able to network and exchange ideas with fellow (ISC)2 credential holders and other information security professionals within the West-Central Florida area.<\/p>\n<p>Academic Department\u00a0Chair\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/webapps.spcollege.edu\/instructors\/id\/malave.laura\"><u>Laura Malave<\/u><\/a>, of St. Petersburg College\u2019s College of Computer &amp; Information Technology (CCIT) attends these quarterly meetings. Since she teaches IT Security courses for CCIT, these meetings provide an excellent opportunity to keep abreast of industry trends, network with industry professionals and collaborate on projects. As part of her involvement with the Tampa Bay Chapter, Malave volunteers her time as a planning committee member for the Tampa BSides Information Security Conference.
