I Am Robotics <\/em>represents an opportunity to establish a STEM\/Robotics program at St. Petersburg College’s (SPC) Midtown Center. To promote the development in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) among diverse and underrepresented student populations,\u00a0 I Am Robotics <\/em> supports a robotics league designed to serve as a college club with activities to provide students the resources to apply STEM knowledge as they learn how to build robots.<\/p>\n

The robotics league will prepare a team of four members to enter the VEX U Robotics Intercollegiate Competition <\/em><\/a>held during the 2015\u00a0robotics competition season. League members will also participate in service-learning activities that include partnering with the Boys & Girls Club, which is\u00a0located in the Royal Theater across from the Midtown Center, to provide mentoring and tutoring to middle school and high school students interested in engineering and other science fields.<\/p>\n
