Brian Rood (<em>pictured below)\u00a0<\/em>was given an award for his<a href=\"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/public-safety\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2016\/04\/IMG_1609b.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-775\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-775 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/public-safety\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2016\/04\/IMG_1609b-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_1609b\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/public-safety-policy-legal-studies-educational-information\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2016\/04\/IMG_1609b-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/public-safety-policy-legal-studies-educational-information\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2016\/04\/IMG_1609b-683x1024.jpg 683w, https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/public-safety-policy-legal-studies-educational-information\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2016\/04\/IMG_1609b.jpg 712w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a> high academic achievements and in his short speech credited instructors, as well as his wife and daughter for their influence on his academy success. After an at-times humorous inspirational speech by Oldsmar Fire Department&#8217;s Fire Chief Dean O&#8217;Nale and the presentation of certificates to graduates, class president, Vincent Diorio, led the cadets in their final fall-out <em>(pictured below)<\/em> followed by an eruption of applause and cheers by the audience.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/public-safety\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2016\/04\/IMG_1623b.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-776\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-776 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/public-safety\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2016\/04\/IMG_1623b-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_1623b\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/public-safety-policy-legal-studies-educational-information\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2016\/04\/IMG_1623b-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/public-safety-policy-legal-studies-educational-information\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2016\/04\/IMG_1623b-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/public-safety-policy-legal-studies-educational-information\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2016\/04\/IMG_1623b-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/public-safety-policy-legal-studies-educational-information\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2016\/04\/IMG_1623b.jpg 1068w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Corrections Recruit Class #89 graduated on Wednesday April 13th at 6pm with a <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/public-safety\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2016\/04\/IMG_1657b.png\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-777\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-777 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/public-safety\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/13\/2016\/04\/IMG_1657b-200x300.png\" alt=\"IMG_1657b\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/public-safety-policy-legal-studies-educational-information\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2016\/04\/IMG_1657b-200x300.png 200w, https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/public-safety-policy-legal-studies-educational-information\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2016\/04\/IMG_1657b-683x1024.png 683w, https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/public-safety-policy-legal-studies-educational-information\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2016\/04\/IMG_1657b.png 712w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/a>ceremony beginning with two bag pipe players, introduction of cadets, and a final color guard ceremony for retiring long-time leader of the color guard for SPC graduations, Deputy Davis. The ceremony included an emotional class address given by a special cadet chosen by her class. \u00a0Next, awards were given to outstanding cadets in the areas of Firearms, Defensive Tactics, and Academic performance. Reciting their motto &#8220;Many were called, few were chosen&#8221;, the graduation proved to be an emotional time for not only the cadets, but for their many family members and friends in the audience.
