Members from the Law Enforcement and Corrections Academies attended the annual \u201cChristmas in July\u201d charity benefit last Saturday, generating toy donations for the young patients of All Children\u2019s Hospital. Leading the group is our honorary Law Enforcement graduate Eric Piburn spreading his message of \u201ckindness<\/em>\u201d to all. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our focus is to embed these recruits into the community and serving \nas soon as possible. What a wonderful cause to start their careers in \npublic service. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Christmas in July is a month-long, community-wide fundraiser for St.\nJoseph\u2019s Children\u2019s Hospital. Every year, St. Joseph\u2019s Children\u2019s Hospital\nFoundation aids corporations, local businesses, civic organizations, and individuals\nin bringing some mid-year holiday cheer to the kids that need it most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Friday, July 26, from 7 a.m. – 1 p.m., a number of community partners, sponsors, and donors came together to celebrate their month-long fundraising efforts. Local media Magic 94.9 and Fox 13 broadcast live as local businesses and individuals share info the joy of giving, patients will have a special visit from Santa, and volunteers help collect toy and monetary donations from community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Health care settings are often stressful and frightening experiences for children and families. Providing recreation, developmental play, and play therapy gives kids strategies for coping and bring a momentary escape from their illness. It is through generous community support, and events like Christmas in July, that St. Joseph\u2019s Children\u2019s Hospital is able to provide these services that dramatically alter a child\u2019s hospital experience members. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
