The award\u00a0is presented by the St. Petersburg College Alumni Association to the college&#8217;s outstanding associate degree graduate with winners chosen for their leadership, scholastic standing, community service, honors and awards.<\/p>\n<p>Bhatt&#8217;s dedication to academic excellence has equipped her for\u00a0success beyond\u00a0the classroom.<\/p>\n<p>This year, Bhatt became the\u00a0youngest person ever selected as a judicial intern at Second District Court of Appeals for the Honorable Judge Chris Altenbernd. This position normally is only offered to third-year law students, Bhatt said she was told when she was selected.<\/p>\n<p>Preparation in the classroom and guidance from professors equipped Bhatt for the prestigious internship, she said.\u00a0 Her responsibilities include preparing legal memorandums and analyzing and conducting legal research in the federal and state court systems.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Thanks to the guidance and support from my professors, I actively served\u00a0in leadership roles in\u00a0clubs and activities,&#8221; Bhatt said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_213\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-213\" style=\"width: 336px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/law-and-policy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2015\/10\/Amy4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-213\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/law-and-policy\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2015\/10\/Amy4-300x150.jpg\" alt=\"Amy4\" width=\"336\" height=\"168\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/public-safety-policy-legal-studies-educational-information\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2015\/10\/Amy4-300x150.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/public-safety-policy-legal-studies-educational-information\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/14\/2015\/10\/Amy4.jpg 951w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 336px) 100vw, 336px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-213\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Research presentation at the Honors College conference<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Beyond the classroom, Bhatt is heavily involved in SPC&#8217;s campus legal community. She&#8217;s the founder of &#8220;Legal Eagle,&#8221; SPC&#8217;s Pre-Law Journal coordinated with the Clearwater Bar Association and the People&#8217;s Law School. She also is the president of the Honors College Student Consortium, the Vice President of the Legal Studies Society and a host of other civic organizations.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;These extracurricular activities provide an excellent gateway to build my reputation, help me\u00a0succeed\u00a0in college and at work, and\u00a0expand my network in professional fields.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;SPC has had a huge impact on my personal, academic and professional life,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>St. Petersburg College student \u00a0Amy Bhatt is excelling beyond measures.
