Students enrolled in the program will take a total of four classes during their last four semesters of high school, with the opportunity to earn a total of 12 college credits. Credits can be applied toward a degree program at SPC, or they can be transferred to any accredited college or university that will accept them.<\/p>\n<p>The program requires a 3.0 GPA, but students with a 2.5 GPA can enroll, as long as the GPA is trending up. The decision to accept students without a 3.0 is done on a case-by-case decision.<\/p>\n<h5>Course schedule, days and times<\/h5>\n<p>The program consists of\u00a0 four courses taken during the junior and senior years of high school:<\/p>\n<p>11<sup>th<\/sup> Grade:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>CJE1202- Crime and Delinquency<\/li>\n<li>CJE2605- Investigative Trends<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>12<sup>th<\/sup> Grade:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>CCJ2720-Introduction to Research Methods Criminal Justice<\/li>\n<li>DSC1004-Introdudction to the NRF and NIMS<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Classes are offered at the Allstate Center Monday through Thursday from 3 &#8211; 4:15 p.m. two days per week.<\/p>\n<p>Opportunities for field trips and interaction with the <a href=\"http:\/\/police.stpete.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">St. Petersburg Police Department<\/a> and other law enforcement and public safety professionals will be offered. The program will require students to participate in training with the SPPD one Saturday per semester.<\/p>\n<p>Participating students who are 18 years of age also have the opportunity to obtain part-time employment with the city of St. Petersburg, which could be a stepping stone for other opportunities and careers with the city.<\/p>\n<p>The program is currently offered to the following South County high schools, but North County students are welcome to participate.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Gibbs<\/li>\n<li>Boca Ciega<\/li>\n<li>Lakewood<\/li>\n<li>St. Petersburg<\/li>\n<li>Northeast<\/li>\n<li>Pinellas Park<\/li>\n<li>Dixie Hollins<\/li>\n<li>Osceola<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Students will need to have transportation the Allstate Center to attend
