Today, we serve Pinellas County through our award-winning programs – more than 80 of which are offered fully online – as well as high-demand workforce certifications and short-term programs. SPC is also a large contributor to the economic health of the community.

But much of what community colleges offer is non-academic support, like SPC’s First to Finished, a group that seeks to help first-generation students navigate college and make sure they have the resources to successfully finish their degrees or certificate programs.

Another way SPC is serving the community is through a new scholarship. The Promise Scholarship is offered to the 2023 graduates from a select group of local high schools, in order to assist graduates who need help paying for a degree or credentials that would land them good-paying jobs and fulfilling careers.

The Promise Scholarship covers tuition and fees – after any grants or scholarships a student receives – at SPC through a student’s graduation from an associate degree or a financial-aid-eligible certificate program.

SPC President Dr. Tonjua Williams said the College is dedicated to its mission to empower our students and community to achieve success and economic mobility through academic excellence and engagement.

“We hope we can change some lives for the better and make some dreams come true,” she said.

[14,25,38

post-5005","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-featured","category-spc-inspires","category-we-are-spc
["GET
