{"id":9870,"date":"2015-06-24T17:17:06","date_gmt":"2015-06-24T17:17:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/international\/?p=9870"},"modified":"2024-01-30T10:10:13","modified_gmt":"2024-01-30T15:10:13","slug":"day-3-in-rome-by-bronwen-tedrick","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/international\/day-3-in-rome-by-bronwen-tedrick\/","title":{"rendered":"Day 3 in Rome"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today we started off going to the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organization. \u00a0Our guide, Alison, was very nice and informative.<\/p>\n<p>The FAO is a program that tries to send food to countries and fix up their agricultural programs after a disaster. \u00a0However, the FAO can only advise and suggest, they can\u2019t make people change their ways.<\/p>\n<p>After the information session Alison brought us up to the roof and there was a very pretty view.<\/p>\n<p>After that our tour guide, Devon, took us to the country of Malta.<\/p>\n<p>One of the smallest countries in the world, around four square blocks. \u00a0Although, when we visited they were having a party of sorts with representatives from other countries. \u00a0The two I recognized were Canada and Brazil.<\/p>\n<p>After that we visited a few churches, one being 1500 years old. \u00a0The last church we visited that day was Mary Major. \u00a0One of the top four churches in Rome. \u00a0Mary Major is home to the cradle of Jesus.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/international\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2015\/07\/P1050097-300x225.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-9871\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/international\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2015\/07\/P1050097-300x225-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"P1050097-300x225\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/international\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2015\/07\/P1050129-300x225.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-9872\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/international\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2015\/07\/P1050129-300x225-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"P1050129-300x225\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/international\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2015\/07\/P1050085-300x225.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-9873\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/international\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2015\/07\/P1050085-300x225-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"P1050085-300x225\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Today we started off going to the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organization. \u00a0Our guide, Alison, was very nice and informative.
