On one of our first nights here we took a walk down to the river. It was a gorgeous night out and the entire group went. While walking we could see these plaques in the road with what looked like clam shells. They were sporadic but they were all facing the same direction.<\/p>\n
Come to find out these “clam shells” are all part of a pilgrimage. This is a pilgrimage that many set out on and it is called “El Camino de Santiago,” or in English, “the way of St. James.” The pilgrimage is said to lead you to the burial place of apostle St. James the Great. This is a legend, but each year more and more people take this pilgrimage and many say that they “find” themselves on this trip. I don’t think it is considered a religious pilgrimage anymore, but after reading blogs and researching it on the Internet, it seems most people say they find God on this trip.<\/p>\n
This is just one of the many things we’ve learned while here in Spain. The are so many things and places to discover.<\/p>\n
One day I hope to go in the pilgrimage El Camino de Santiago, and this is coming from someone who is way out of their comfort zone. However, I am definitely putting it on my bucket list. Ever since I made the decision to come to Spain, I fully believe I can go anywhere and do anything I set my mind too.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
