\"fulbright\"<\/a>The U.S. Department of State\u2019s Fulbright Program increases mutual understanding between the people of the U.S. and of other countries through international educational exchanges.<\/p>\n

The State Department\u2019s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, which administers Fulbright, says it plans to step up efforts to promote opportunities to students, instructors, and administrators at two-year institutions. The Bureau plans to help students be well-prepared to enter an increasingly globalized work force and to help bridge the global-knowledge gap through webinars, presentations at community-college events, bringing foreign scholars to teach at these colleges, and more.<\/p>\n

As internationalization and globalization continue to be top priorities for many institutions, they are constantly looking for ways to promote international learning. “About 40 percent of our students will go directly into the work force, where globalization is becoming increasingly important,” said Wayne C. Wheeler, director of international programs and services for the American Association of Community Colleges. \u201cThe Fulbright Program is one way colleges can bring the world to their campuses.”<\/p>\n
