Forty-seven students participated in this fantastic learning experience, eleven of whom were SPC international students. Sane Haidara, originally of Mali, had the following reaction to his experience:

We went to Tallahassee this week to visit the Senate, the House and to meet Florida legislators. The trip allowed me and a number of SPC students to attend a House Education Committee meeting and mock legislative session Thursday morning, March 19. The tour was very informative, and we experienced how an idea becomes a bill and is finally implemented as a law. Furthermore, we were able to exchange business cards with lawmakers. I believe this experience at the State Capitol has enhanced my leadership skills, and will help inform how I can help my home country, Mali, in addressing the issues we are facing.

-Sane Haidara

For more information on SPC International Programs, click here.

See below for more photos of the Tallahassee group:

All 47 student attendees, trip advisors, and SPC President Dr. Law

Dr. Law, Roberta Spathari, and Kenza Kadiri

Jasmine Shamsi and Abdolmohsen Dobi

International Programs was thrilled to repeat the annual visit to Florida’s state government seat at Tallahassee with Dr. Law on March 18 and 19, 2015.
