We caught four turtles on our first day. The staff at Widecast would bring the boat into shore and depending how big the turtle is several of us would get the turtle out of the boat and to the shore on tires so we could preform our procedure. With every turtle we would check for a tag. If no tag was present we would tag them and obtain a tissue sample. If the turtle was tagged in the past we would retag and also obtain a tissues sample. \u00a0We would also measure the plastron, carapace, tail, and \u00a0cloaca. All the data was recorded and put into their data base to keep track of all the turtles. The majority of the sea turtles caught were female green sea turtles, we did get catch one hawksbill. \u00a0It was an amazing experience being able to work with the sea turtles. \u00a0I would definitely do it again!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
