Thanks to everyone! Some of the highlights, among the many, many activities include: visiting the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, swimming in the Dead Sea, exploring the different quarters of the Old City, and roaming the ancient ruins of Megiddo, Zippori, and Beit Shean. And I have to mention our visit to Schlomo&#8217;s home. After touring Bethlehem, our guide Schlomo invited us to his house to join him and his wife for hot-out-of-the-oven cinnamon bread and fresh-brewed Israeli coffee. This was the ultimate display of hospitality and will never be forgotten!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/study-abroad\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/DSCN1594.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4921\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/study-abroad\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/DSCN1594-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Sea of Galilee\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/study-abroad\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/DSCN1596.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4920\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/study-abroad\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/DSCN1596-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Jordan River\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/study-abroad\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/DSCN1563.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/study-abroad\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/DSCN1563-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"Where Jesus gave the Sermon on the Mount according to tradition\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Where Jesus gave the Sermon on the Mount according to tradition<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The superior education I have received on this trip cannot be overstated&#8211;Professor Jahosky&#8217;s engaging discussions coupled with Schlomo&#8217;s informative explanations and personal experiences have made for a truly divine learning environment. Utilizing material we covered in class and his extensive knowledge on various historical topics, Professor Jahosky has been able to inspire the passion for discovery and scholarly discussion in me and other students. Meanwhile, Schlomo has provided insight into the convoluted political and social situation here in Israel&#8211;insights that could only be garnered through personal experience. This dynamic has had a synergistic effect&#8211;allowing us the combined benefits of scholarly expertise and experiential wisdom.<\/p>\n<p>And, as my pictures attest, the sites, scenery, and company have been beyond amazing! So much history and ancient drama that I can literally feel the sacred energy pulsing through my being.
