CL International Club President, Sane Haidara with the Lion Dance Performers<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

In January, over 20 SPC students and staff helped to usher in the Year of the Horse<\/i> at a Chinese New Year Celebration hosted by the Confucius Institute at USF.\u00a0 The Celebration featured professional performances that included a dragon dance, illuminated Chinese yoyo show, Chinese instruments and cultural games with special gifts to the winners.<\/p>\n

Students were able to be immersed in Chinese culture right here at home!<\/p>\n

Here are some of their comments:<\/p>\n

Sane Haidara:<\/b> Growing up in Timbuktu, as a child I have always heard about the Chinese New Year Celebration. I had to come to America, and experience this magnificent holiday. It\u2019s like a dream come true!<\/i><\/p>\n

Jasmine Shamsi: <\/b>I have never been to a Chinese Celebration before, so attending this event was wonderful! The dragon dance was very unique and entertaining and the music sounded very pleasant and enjoyable. <\/i><\/p>\n

Andrew Malyj:<\/b> It was cool, fun, and a unique opportunity.\u00a0 I got to learn about different Chinese instrument and some of the traditional dance they have<\/i>.<\/p>\n
