So we are now in a new town staying with a different Danish student. She picked us up yesterday from the Veterinary Technician school in Kolding, where we had a tour of the school and a BBQ. It was really cool to see the similarities and differences between St Petersburg College Vet Tech program and the school here in Denmark. They also have animals that belong to the school and live on campus like our school however they have less cats, only beagles for dogs, their own herd of dairy cattle, horses, and a few rooms full of laboratory animals (rats, mice, rabbits and two pigs). The school also houses some zoo animals but they are generally used for the zoo keeper program that the school also offers. It was also a great opportunity to meet more of the Danish students and talked about the types of classes they take and assignments they have. I think this trip was a great opportunity to learn about my career choice as a vet tech and how that job is performed in other countries.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
