\"\"<\/a>When I had the idea of going on a study abroad I went to the SPC homepage and immediately found the Spain program. I brought the idea up to my friends and family and, of course, none of them liked the fact that I would be gone for 3 weeks. I told them it was over a year away and there was no need to worry. Before I knew it, I was being dropped off at the airport, and I would be gone for 3 weeks. It finally started to feel real to everyone and myself.<\/p>\n

My roommate for the trip, April, and I took off from Tampa to go spend a day in London. With multiple layovers in Canada and my experience in London, I began to realize just how different other countries can be, even the ones where they speak your language.<\/p>\n

When we landed in Spain, I quickly came to realize that I knew a lot less Spanish than I thought I did. I was jet lagged, I felt sick, and neither one of us had more than about 5 hours of sleep in last 72 hours. I did not expect to feel the way I did when I finally made it to Spain.<\/p>\n
