So, my classmates and I have been in Spain for a little over a week now and it\u2019s been nothing short of phenomenal! As I\u2019m writing this, it\u2019s hard to adequately put into words what this trip has already done for me in a mere 10 days, but I\u2019ll try. Jumping right into the classroom and having to interpret a lesson as it\u2019s being taught primarily in the Spanish language was quite the challenge; nevertheless, my classmates and I have already gotten better and are able to determine what\u2019s being taught with relative ease. Aside from that initial language barrier, the lessons have been interactive and I feel like I\u2019m truly benefiting from the course.<\/p>\n
In addition to classroom time, I was able to partake in two weekend excursions this past weekend in Segovia and Zamora. Both were outstanding, but offered varying experiences. In Segovia we were able to spend some time touring the Again, it\u2019s only been 10 days, but I\u2019m having quite the time here in Salamanca. \ncity and it\u2019s historical attributes, such as the 1st<\/sup> Century Aqueduct. I found this to be quite satisfying as I just finished discussing this sort of technology in my Humanities course last semester. In Zamora we arrived later in the afternoon, but still spent an extensive time taking in the city and even enjoying dinner in a cave (it was better than it may sound). This coming weekend a group of my classmates and I will travel north to San Sebastian and Biarritz, France! Needless to say, I\u2019m beyond ecstatic for the coming excursion.<\/p>\n![\"spain](\"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/international\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/23\/2016\/06\/spain-foto-3-300x225.jpg\")
One thing I\u2019d like to point out is the fact that the professors and students in this program are incredible. I feel as if I\u2019m forming new friendships while I\u2019m in Salamanca and learning from this opportunity. I also agree with what Ronda initially mentioned in her previous blog post about\u00a0students willingness to form bonds and help each other with\u00a0their language skills. At the end of the day, we\u2019re all in this program together and it\u2019s certainly showing!<\/p>\n
