After a total of seventeen hours of sitting in airports and cramped airplane seats, all of us were thrilled about being on the ground again. Almost \u00a0everyone\u00a0unanimously agreed we wanted to head straight to the hotel and sleep our lives away, but Professor Wolter had other ideas.<\/p>\n

Once we were on our way to the hotel our spirits were lifted as we gaped at the Roman landscape. After a quick fresh up at the hotel we were back to the streets with our tour guide, Molly. The first place she brought us was to the Pontifical North American College, we got to climb to the top of the seminary and get the best view of the city not accessible to the public (thanks to her friend who has been studying there for 4 years). After that we strolled to St. Peter’s Square where we saw the mesmerizing Vatican. Next we got to try the best gelato in town and learned how to avoid lower quality gelato. The last stop on the tour was Piazza Navona where we learned about the Fontana dei Quattro Fiumin and the rivalry between Bernini and Borrowmini.\u00a0Finally, it was time to take a last stroll up the cobblestone paths to have a dinner that puts American-Italian food to shame.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
