In addition to a recent grant award from the Florida Department of Health, they are celebrating student success. EMT graduates from Dec. 12, 2015 through June 11, 2016 passed their licensing exam at a rate of <strong>94%<\/strong>, exceeding the state average of a 74% pass rate, and an amazing jump from the previous SPC pass rate.<\/p>\n<p>The EMS faculty and staff have spent huge amounts of time and effort to reach this amazing level of success in a very short time frame. The EMT is the first level and allows practice at the basic life support level. It also provides the foundation to become a Paramedic. Paramedics provide more extensive pre-hospital care than do EMTs and are trained in advanced life support measures.<\/p>\n<p>SPC also offers an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spcollege.edu\/ems-as\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">A.S. degree program in Emergency Medical Services<\/a>. Our EMT and Paramedic programs are the first two occupational completion points for our EMS-AS.
