{"id":4670,"date":"2022-06-14T14:10:57","date_gmt":"2022-06-14T18:10:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/health-sciences-nursing-veterinary-technology-educational-information\/?p=4670"},"modified":"2025-11-13T20:28:51","modified_gmt":"2025-11-14T01:28:51","slug":"spc-nursing-accreditation-renewed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/health-sciences-nursing-veterinary-technology-educational-information\/spc-nursing-accreditation-renewed\/","title":{"rendered":"SPC Nursing Accreditation Renewed"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) recently granted accreditation to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spcollege.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">St. Petersburg College<\/a>\u2019s baccalaureate degree program in Nursing, which will extend until June 30, 2032. The program first gained accreditation in 2007, and this is its second renewal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">No easy task<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The accolade is hard earned. For two years, the faculty, staff and deans of the RN-BSN Nursing program worked to evaluate the program at multiple levels to ensure that it met CCNE\u2019s four standards, which take an in-depth look at mission and governance, institutional commitment to resources, curriculum and teaching-learning practices, and achievement of program outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dr. Jean Lee, Professor of Nursing in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.spcollege.edu\/future-students\/degrees-training\/health-sciences-and-veterinary-technology\/nursing\/nursing-bs-degree\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">College of Nursing&#8217;s RN-BSN program<\/a>, said multiple perspectives had to be considered to ensure that SPC&#8217;s RN-BSN Nursing program is contemporary and responsive to the needs of students and the College\u2019s community partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe overall process and visit was a group effort involving students, faculty, staff and administrators within the College of Nursing and other areas and personnel from many other departments,\u201d Lee said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Accreditation means excellence<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CCNE accreditation is a stamp of excellence that means that SPC students are getting a high-quality education that meets the standards for baccalaureate nursing education.\u00a0It also allows St. Petersburg College BSN graduates to matriculate into accredited graduate nursing programs throughout the country.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt ensures that courses have contemporary and relevant content, instructors are using a variety of appropriate teaching methods, and students are equipped to meet professional challenges and expectations of baccalaureate nurses,\u201d Lee said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>St. Petersburg College\u2019s baccalaureate degree program in Nursing received accreditation from the CCNE.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":743,"featured_media":4672,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":"","_members_access_role":[],"_members_access_error":""},"categories":[251,13,121,131],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-4670","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-featured","category-health","category-nursing","category-rn"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/health-sciences-nursing-veterinary-technology-educational-information\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/4670","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/health-sciences-nursing-veterinary-technology-educational-information\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/health-sciences-nursing-veterinary-technology-educational-information\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/health-sciences-nursing-veterinary-technology-educational-information\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/743"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/health-sciences-nursing-veterinary-technology-educational-information\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=4670"}],"version-history":[{"count":1,"href":"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/health-sciences-nursing-veterinary-technology-educational-information\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/4670\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":4673,"href":"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/health-sciences-nursing-veterinary-technology-educational-information\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/4670\/revisions\/4673"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/health-sciences-nursing-veterinary-technology-educational-information\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/4672"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/health-sciences-nursing-veterinary-technology-educational-information\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=4670"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/health-sciences-nursing-veterinary-technology-educational-information\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=4670"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blog.spcollege.edu\/health-sciences-nursing-veterinary-technology-educational-information\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=4670"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
